Follow the sign to White Edge. Once up the moor you might see a herd of roe deer.
At the sign to the Grouse Inn go straight, you will pass the inn later on your way back.
Cross the B 6054 and enter the Longshaw estate through a big white gate.
Left at the visitors centre (refreshments) down through the rhododendrons. Around the pond to the B 6521. Cross the road go left take a footbridge over the Burbage Brook. Padley Gorge. Follow the path with the brook on your left. At the very end you come to a road, take the first possibility to the left and cross the brook again.
Then up to the B 6521 again, across is a footpath sign. A somewhat steep climb with a stream on your right brings you out into the open again. Make sure you cross the little stream and head to the left towards the B 6054. Right on the road after 100 meters you pass the Grouse Inn. Passed the pub a sign to the right over a field. Go left at the end passing a car park, crossing a stream and up to the road again. Cross the road and go right, a sigh on your left towards the Curbar Edge. Follow that all the way back to the parking.
It took us almost 6 hours including long stops at the Longshaw coffee shop and the Grouse Inn.
