Vägbeskrivning
Starting in Poupehan, this circular route takes you along Semois river to a number of magnificent views of the river valley.
The first 3 km is flat and easy. Then 300 m ascend to the first viewpoint. The ascend could be challenging in wet weather. The descend is crowded, but supported by handrails and a ladder in the tricky areas. At 4 km you reach river level and a couple of flat rocks perfect for a rest.
You now walk along the river on a regular trail before you cross over the hill towards Botassan to reach the viewpoint Le Tombeau du Géant at 7.3 km. Returning to the river is on a regular, but somewhat steep, trail (could be slippery in wet weather).
Follow the trail to the pedestrian bridge - La passerelle du Moulin de l’Épine - and on the other side of the river ascend to the Épine viewpoint at 10 km. (here you also find guidance to the Diablo viewpoint - we didn’t go there)
The rest of the route is on regular trails and roads in the forest with resting options at 10.6 km, 11.3 km, and 12.8 km. The final viewpoint (Point de vue Devant le Mont) with a view of Poupehan is reached at 15 km. From here the last 600 m takes about 100 m down to river level and the parking area.
