  Mahuli is the highest peak of Thane district at 2815 ft.
  
  The base village is approx 6 km drive from Asangaon station or a 44 km drive from Kalyan Station. Transport options include Auto from Asangaon which charges 250 Rs or Buses from Shahapur (Infrequent).
  The trail starts at a distance of half km from the village.The trek itself is approx 12 km long from start to end. Follow the broad trail from the right of Bhaktniwas and cross temple, ticket collection centre and a bridge to start the uphill walk. An hour-long climb brings you to a ridge. Climb a ladder to enter Mahuli fort and head south to go to lake/temple remains. A ladder in the col at the southern end of Mahuli takes you into Bhandargad. View the historic Kalyan Darwaza here and go to the southernmost point to get a majestic view of the surrounding pinnacles. One can return via the same path.
