Small urban hike along Canal du Midi entre Les Ponts Jumeaux where it starts and Le Pont des Demoiselles. It crosses most of the urban part of the Canal inside Toulouse. The first 3 locks, now not often used can be seen. Only after the locks you see the first port with boats. Although you are walking along city streets and cityspace dominates it is an pleasant hike that gives you the first flavor of the Canal and another view of the Pink City.
The Canal du Midi is a UNESCO site and the walk from Toulouse to Carcassone was selected to Lonely Planet Epic Hikes in Europe.
