Short but fairly muscular run (well most of the way up the Rigi is a fast hike rather than run). The descent is steep and slowish.

Route starts in Weggis. During the first 10 km to of ascent to Rigi Kulm it follows the "Mark Twain" route via Bodenberg, Sentiberg, Heligkreuz and Felsentor (a brief passage under large stones).

From there it meanders parallel to the Rigibahn line from Vitznau up to Rigi Kaltbad, then turns right towards "First" and there sharp left in the upward direction of Rotstock (but without going up).

Views aplenty as is usual for the Rigi. On a weekend quite touristy/packed.

Once in Kulm it follows the standard path to Küssnacht am Rigi.

The trail is 75% soft, with asphalt in the first couple of kilometres (leaving Weggis and arriving into Küssnacht)

There are no exposed areas. Even family friendly if it was not for the altitude that has to be gained. Trekking poles will be very useful on way up from either side, whether you start in Küssnacht or in Weggis.

If you are walking it Schweizmobil suggests about 7 hours (will depend a lot on your uphill walking)
