After a moderate effort, this hike rewards the climber with an unobstructed panorama of the Sawtooth and White Clouds. And because the route traverses the very top of the ridge, you enjoy the impressive views most of the time, left and right. The climb offers no particular difficulty, other than the 3200 feet elevation gain in two miles. No scrambling needed. The first section of the route, which runs under the trees, is a little difficult to follow. There is a barely visible trail, and I lost track of it too many times to count. The idea is to keep on top of the ridge. Above the treeline a clear path appears, and the ridge route is obvious. The access is through a decent dirt road –it may be suitable for a passenger car.
